ABOUT MJØLNER

SYDNEY

Mjølner is a place where sophistication and opulence meets revelry and decadence. Mjølner is created in Thor’s image and delivers a unique dining experience, offering our guests escapism with the enjoyment of fine food and world class beverages.

A modern-day interpretation of the feasting halls of Valhalla, Mjølner is beloved as much for its meat forward menu and enormous whisky collection as it is for its exceptional attention to detail. Mjølner has Norse mythology and storytelling at its heart with iconography carved into shields, drinking horns, axes and ornate handmade knives – presented to each guest in a leather knife roll.

“May Odin give you knowledge on your path. May Thor grant you strength & courage on your way. And may Loki give you laughter as you go…” – Skål

Media highlights

"Getting inside Mjolner Melbourne is an achievement in itself. Weave your way down Hardware Street and look for the solid concealed door surrounded by iron gates. Head below street level for blazing cocktails in the bar or dine on Viking-inspired delights in the restaurant. Order your drinks shaken, stirred or served in a giant horn, then feast on roast bone marrow, tomahawk steak and grilled whole rainbow trout."

"Yes, this is big brash food. Mjølner – which also has a Sydney outpost – is the antithesis of the austere-walled restaurants where chefs use tweezers to garnish dishes with micro herbs."

"You’ve come to scull beer from the Viking drinking horn. That’s why you’re here. Or cocktails with that “no punches pulled, all-out Viking feasting hall” energy. I mean, caramelised pork infused Havana 7y/o rum with PX sherry and bone broth? For Odin’s sake."
